WP app blocks my IP-number

  1. WP app blocks my IP-number

    Hi!
I just used the WordPress app on my phone. The phone had both wifi and Mobile broadband connected. The wifi connection caused our page to go down, or at least it looks like that. It is blocked. But only that one, everything else works and you can’t tell any difference either.
I talked to my Internet provider just now and he knew there is a bug at WordPress causing this. He would unlook me in 10-15 minutes but advised me NOT to run the WP app using wifi. So, please could someone fix it?
    Thanks!

  2. Hey there,

Your device's connection to the internet does not have any affect on the availability of your website.

Your site http://magnolia.nu/wp13/ is hosted on a server at a web host. While your ability to connect may be limited by your internet connection, that wouldn't change anyone else's ability to access the site.

I'm not sure what you mean by this.

  3. Hi rfaile313!
I understand it sounds like I'm drunk or under the influence of even stronger stuff. But I'm not.
I do not want to risk one more time to loose the possibility to access my own WP admin page by using the WP app in the phone but it happens only when I use the wifi in my house. It is very strange. My Internet provider told me he knew about this bug in WP. Do you know if it is fixed by now?

  4. Welcome Back.

    No, I don't think that - it's just a situation I'm unfamiliar with.

After some discussion with the team: If your WordPress site is hosted by your ISP, it’s possible there’s a block placed on the site if it’s accessed via XML-RPC – some poorly configured web application firewall might be detecting that and doing bad things.

The first thing we'd like you to check if this happens on a different network. Could you please disable WiFi and try using cellular data?

Lastly, Could you please share the name of your site with me? Including the full URL with "https://" (example: https://example.com/) is most helpful, that way I can check a few more things.
