Categories have no check boxes

  1. Installed Wordpress 5.2, set up a test of a few categories, in a nested structure.

Tried the android app on 2 devices, same problem on both.

Create new blog post, menu>post settings>Categories.

New page opens, with list of Categories, all nested correctly.

But there's no check boxes, no highlighting, no way to tell which are selected.

Clicking them seems to have random effects on whether they're selected or not.

  2. Hi mavhc,

Thanks for providing the detailed steps to replicate. I tried doing the same thing with my Android device and a WordPress site running WordPress 5.2.1. I created a series of nested categories but was unable to replicate the issue you're describing.

I created a new blog post and went to view menu>post settings>Categories.

From that screen I can see all of my categories nested correctly. When I tap on a category I would like to assign to the post, a large tick appears to the right of the category name to let me know this is selected. If I tap again, it removes the tick. No matter how many I select or unselect, the process is consistent and I can continue to tell which category is selected at any given time.

The problem you're experiencing may be more localized to your website specifically, are you using any plugins that interact with categories at all?

We'd be happy to take a look. Please go to "Me > Help & Support" in the app and tap on "Contact us" so we can investigate it from there. Please make sure to include the address of your website in your message so that we can take a look and troubleshoot this problem.
