Can't exceed 5MB limit for media Upload
-
Hi ! i'm facing a problem with the upload of media.
I've set via php.ini file the upload limit to 128Mb but when i want to upload a picture or video, it must be less than 5Mb. Is it normal ? Can i remove this limit ? -
Hi there!
We don't have a max upload limit through the app directly, but it's possible your host has some form of limit set up on their end. Does this only happen when you try to upload images through the app or is it also happening when you do so from the browser?
Can you confirm the site URL you're having trouble with?
Thank you!

Hi there!
Can you verify with your host if they have any way to verify with your site why these images would fail when you're trying to upload through the app?
It would also be helpful if you could send us a set of logs from the apps after an image upload fails.
To share the logs from your device, navigate to the Me section then "Help & Support". From there, tap "Application Log" and choose the clipboard icon to the upper right to copy the logs to your device's clipboard. You can then paste them in your next reply.
If you would prefer to send these privately, you can instead open a new support request to contact us using the 'Contact Us' button under Help & Support in the app.
Thank you!

I see that you are saying the problem is only happening for the app. However, I did read through the logs you sent and it appears the app is returning the message "REQUEST_TOO_LARGE" which appears to be coming from your web server.

Can you please try another test?
Please install this plugin and then try uploading a large image or video again. Does it work when this plugin is installed and active?
https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-big-image-threshold/If that does not help, are you able to check the log server files from your web host for the same timestamp that you tried the latest failed test to see if the web server logs provide additional helpful information that the app logs do not have?
-
Yes it only happen with the app, for the same picture if i upload it from my phone browser it work...
The plugin doesn't work too...
For the logs, i don't acces to this type of logs, i can only have accessLog with just IP, systems etc...
-
I will test this with the latest release of WPAndroid 14.9 (which was released today) using a self-hosted WordPress 5.4.1 and get back to you with the results soon.
To check server error logs, you should contact your web host directly. It is worth doing because it may have some additional information that the apps logs do not have. Let us know what you find out!
