Android app fails to display media, iOS app displays all media

  1. I have a strange problem with my self-hosted blog. I am up to date on WordPress and all plugins.

When I try to browse media using the WordPress app on my Android phone, I can’t see any media. All files give the error: “Media could not be found”. However, when I try the same thing with the iOS app on my iPad, media are displayed correctly, I can browse them, edit them….anything.
This leads me to think that the problem is not with the self-hosted WordPress blog but in the Android app instead.

I haven’t been able to find this issue reported in the forums or as a bug.

  2. Hey there,

Could you please share the name of your site with me? Including the full URL with "https://" (example: is most helpful, that way I can take a look and see what's going on.

While I can run a few tests with the site's name, it would be best if you reached out to us from within the mobile app. We'll most likely need to see the app logs since you mentioned there's no problem in the iOS app, but you're unable to see media in the Android version of the app.

To reach out through the app: please go to "Help & Support" (on the "Me" tab - the person icon) and tap on "Contact us". You can also email us at It's helpful if you can share your site URL with us in the request and provide a screenshot and/or describe any error messages you're seeing.

  3. Thanks for your feedback, I have reached out through the app, as you described.

  4. Thank you! The app query landed safely - we will respond there!

  5. Thanks you, I have reached out through the app from my site:

  6. Hi @deadtrigger,

If you reached out through the app, we'll follow up with you as soon as possible. We're a bit delayed at the moment due to a high volume of requests, but you should hear from us shortly.

    Thank you!

  7. I am facing a similar problem on my site for a few weeks. Although all my plugins and themes are up to date, it shows me an update available.

  8. Hi @danielosa,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Could you confirm if your site is connected to the app using the Jetpack plugin or if you have only added this as self-hosted?

It would also be helpful to have you share some logs after you've tried to load media in the iOS app where it isn't working.

To share the logs from your device, navigate to the Me section then "Help & Support". From there, tap "Application Log" and choose the clipboard icon to the upper right to copy the logs to your device's clipboard. You can then paste them in a message directly to the support team with some details from the app using the Contact Support form under Help & Support. It's more secure to do it this way.

    Thank you!
