adding pictures as attachments

pictures added to the post are not uploaded as attachments to a post. in other words, were i to refer to the attachments of a post uploaded from the app (via the wordpress php api, for example), the post would have no registered attachments.
i can always login to the wordpress dashboard from my desktop browser or wherever and edit the post to add the images as attachments, but it's kind of a pain.
that aside, thanks very much for your fantastic work on the app!
