Taking a picture to add - limited to 1MP??

Is there any way to take a picture greater than one megapixel (1MP) when taking a picture directly from a blog post via the Add Media button? For some reason I cannot choose megapixel size on my droid/milestone, it remains fixed at 1MP.
Please help, 1MP shots are awful, I'd like to use the full 5

Just tried on our test droid and it came out as 2592 x 1936 pixels. Do you have 'upload and link to full size image' checked in your blog options?

Yep, that is checked. When taking the picture, it says 1MP on the left in the camera app and uploads a 1MP picture.
Some additional information: Android 2.1, and the handset is officially a Euro model Milestone.

Can't you change the setting to 5MP by sliding out the group on the left when taking the picture? My droid shows 2MP, 3MP, and 5MP options there.

Not sure if related, Android 1.5 (maybe 1.6) has problem with capturing full size image via built-in camera intent...
