Hi there,

Is there any plan to change the way the android app authenticate with a wp site? I mean, not sending the password in plain text?

It supports it now if you type https in the url when setting up your account.

But the app is still sending the password in a plain format. And I suppost I need SSL Certificate in all the WP Sites, right?

Is there any plan to use something like public-key cryptography or any other way in order to no send the password? This is very insecure.

Yeah, you would need an SSL cert. I didn't see anything about your authentication idea on the core trac, might be worth creating a ticket there. If you are a developer, patches are always welcome :)
