For larger blogs the blog itself and the images are often located on two different servers. This is because the blog might be on a host geared towards fast turn around in customer service, etc and is a bit pricey bandwidth wise, while the images are stored on a cheap bandwidth box where customer service isn't an issue since there are no web apps, db's, etc on the box. The only changes are the uploaded files.

Would be nice if you could specify:
Host
Username
Password
Location on the box
Location on the net

Example:
Cheaphosting.com
Admin
Password
/domain.com/htdocs/tech/
Http://domain.com/tech/

Then the software uploads said image to that location and prepends its filename with that net location.
