Honeycomb support

Wordpress app for android is so much worse then apps for webos and ios ipad. I cannot understand why you would rather develop tablet app for webos then android which have 45% of market? I am waiting impaintantly for the honeycomb app. Maybe you know when it will be on market?

We're working on a new version of the app that should be out sometime in October. It will have some tablet specific updates!

Great! I cant wait, becouse i cant work :/ If you need testers, i can be one ;)

Just weighing in on better tablet support.. I'm using the app ok with my tablet but it could be better.
One main issue is when adding a link - the selected text and its entire sentence become linked upon adding the link.
Also adding a photo is reasonably handled but we could use more options - sizing, link to full size or to full article - would be welcome options. Media info would be nice too so I can more easily know what size the photo is I'm about to add.
Split post insert tag, as well as other font formating (bullet list,etc..) would be nice also.
Thanks toyNN

That sounds great. Or just better than it is right now. Is there any chance to get apk for testing? I have only found apk for alpha version of wordpress 1.5 for android, and that is the same wordpress with new menu...

We've only made the phone changes so far for 2.0, it's still really early on in development.
-
So is there any other app that can replace wordpress? I wanted to use yours, but if you cannot do anything with that, (and i still cannot belive, you managed to do great touchpad app, and forgot bout honeycomb SIC!)

There's an amazing app called 'Browser' that works wonderfully with WordPress. :D
The TouchPad app came about because of a partnership between Automattic and HP. The Android app is an open source project and we're moving as fast we can with the small developers we have available in the mobile WP community. We are all looking forward to getting the app working better on Honeycomb!

Browser? Did you try to write something from tablet browser in wordpress dashboard? Dualcore processor doesnt count there. Its lag after lag, half of buttons doesnt work :/ i tried seven different browsers for android.
Stock? I cannot click any option.
Opera? I cannot write.etc etc.
Thats why i asked of any other media that could help me, becouse i use wordpress to work/ make money and i am loosing money every day of waiting. But i found something on my own and i will test it this weekend.
Looking forward? No offense, but last acutalization of phone version was 5 months ago, when the first android tablet come out. Outdated have a new meaning in this whole thing ;)
And i am not trying to insult anybody, i just wanted some help from somebody, but still no one even tell me what to do. Only that "we are working on it" - and it is a bit shitty answer.

@toyNN - thanks for informing us on the link issue, it's fixed in the next version.
-
@detrit thanks for your patience, I hope the alternative you found will work out for you until we can get the 2.0 release out.
It'd be great to have you beta test it since you seem like an avid WordPress user. Keep your eye on these forums for an announcement on that.

I hope so too. I am big fan of wordpress for two years ;) and i will test the hell out of beta app ;) will be waiting for news.

I have a dumb question, why do we need an app for Android tablets, it comes with a browser and the screen is as large as many laptops. That said I cannot use Wordpress on my Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1. I cannot insert photos, click radio buttons etc. I'm struggling to figure out if that is being addressed or if the effort is just going into an Android app. As a tablet user I can't see the appeal of an app, if WordPress would simply work on a tablet like it does on a laptop. I admit I'mm way behind on understanding the WordPress app for Android. I'm searching and posting in these forums now trying to get my arms wrapped around the effort. But is it crazy of me to ask why use an app for an Android tablet with you have a large screen and a browser already installed? Thanks
Chris

@mr_chris - the WP app is for authoring post to Wordpress blogs you own or have publish rights. Your Samsung tab is android based and is exactly what the app is geared for. I use the WP app daily on my ASUS Transformer android 3.2 tablet for making posts to sites I'm a contributor. By some of your comments it sounds like you may be thinking the app is for viewing or browsing - it isn't.
A quick thanks to the developers for the recent v1.5.1 release - it fixed a few bugs and overall improvements are appreciated.

@toyNN thanks for the feedback, I just installed the app and I'm going to have to play with it some more, at first glance formatting or sizing the photos seems challenging and maybe impossible?
And I must be missing something because I can't figure out why I would want an app when I have a full sized screen and browser, see this screen shot of using WordPress from the Android browser. All the features you see on your PC are there on my browser, the problem is many of the buttons and such do not work.
So I am curious about the appeal of an app when you can use the native one using a browser. I get why you'd want an app on a cell phone, but a tablet? And is anyone working on making the "regular" Wordpress app work on tablets?
Cheers!
Chris

@chris - I guess I don't think about using the WP admin panel's posting tools . Generally not a fan of that interface for posting and on my laptop I'm using MS Live Writer to author posts. Using a native app seemed the way to go. I'll have to give the admin pages for a New Post a try but from using it with for other management tasks with my tablet it seemed to struggle a bit. Some tablet/honeycomb incompatibility.
