My apoligies newfoundnoise82.... I should have read your initial entry better, using the path with wordpress folder resolved the problem!
Thanks.

I noticed this as well, attaching link for screenshot of my droid with error present. I'll try the .htaccess add-on menganito suggested. One of my blogs has wordpress in the root, not a folder, that works fine.

@rbreezy - the app requires WordPress 2.7 or newer. It appears that Lockergnome is running a slightly older version.

If you want to test this out, create a free blog on WordPress.com and test that with your device and the Android app - and see if that works. If it does, then you know the issue is with Lockergnome's WordPress install being out of date.

The problem I found is that .htaccess sometimes blocks acces to xmlrpc.php, at least whe you host wp files not in the root folder but in a wordpress/ folder as it is my case.

After some googling, the solutions passes through adding these lines to .htaccess:

<Files xmlrpc.php>
SecFilterInheritance Off
</Files>

I don't know if this is common knowledge and this post makes me look like a n00b (that I am) but at least it would be nice to unify all the xmlrpc.php related problems under a thread.

When adding an account you might get this error:

xmlrpc.php not found, please check your path

This error occurred for me because I have wordpress installed in it's own directory instead of installing it inside of the url specified.

So for example if you have the url exampledomain.com but you have installed wordpress into exampledomain.com/wordpress this will trigger the error listed above.

To rectify this select the Blog URL field and enter in the domain wordpress is installed in, in the example it would be exampledomain.com/wordpress.

This will allow the app to find xmlrpc.php and thus connect to your wordpress install and everything will just work.
