I saw some threads re this from about a year ago, but it was for an earlier version of the app and I have v 2.1 now. I am getting the same error when trying to login to a wordpress install on my hosting company's server. I don't understand what I'm supposed to do differently to solve this problem. I apologize the issue was covered in previous threads, but I still can't get my new install of android app to connect to my install of wordpress.

I was using a micro SIM card in the HTC One S. Then when I activated the GSM Galaxy Nexus, it was with a regular SIM card. The micro SIM had to be deactivated as it was using the same mobile number. (I was trying out both phones to see which one I wanted to keep.) Even with the HTC on wifi only, I was still always able to see my stats. Just can't seem to do it on the Nexus. For what it's worth, I can also see my stats with the WordPress app on my iPad 2.

Just wanted to add the error message that I'm seeing (On a strong Wifi or 4G connection).

I'll usually see the mesaage:

Connection Error. A connection error has occured. please try again later.

or will randomly see this message:

unterminated entity ref (position:TEXT ey.It must be 1...@ 15:83 in java.io.InputStreamReader@405930e0)

The memory address location at the end changes each time this 2nd message appears

I'm having the same problem on my phone (G2x) running version 2.1 of WordPress for Android. I removed the data, uninstalled the app and reinstalled it but the problem persists. I have an android tablet also running 2.1 and it is connected to the same wireless network as my phone and it works fine.

It seems that this is some kind of since it worked perfectly in previous versions.

I'm able to view stats on my GSM Galaxy Nexus just fine. Are you using the same connection/sim card on both devices?

It's fairly hidden, tap the menu key while at the dashboard and then 'Add Account'

I just loaded the Wordpress App for Android, it works fine so far, however I cannot find how to add a second blog.

I would think it would be an option under settings, (with the log in info of the first blog).... but I can't find it anywhere...

Am I missing something?

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I can log in to the WP Android app, and access all the tabs except for the stats. I am running Jetpack, and I do not believe it to be a blog settings or password problem. I have the app installed on both an HTC One S, and a GSM Galaxy Nexus. In both instances, I am running version 2.1. I can view my stats on the HTC phone, but I cannot on the Galaxy Nexus. When I hit the stats tab with the Nexus, the error message says: "Connection Error. A connection error has occurred. Please try again later." I have had this error message all day. I uninstalled and re-installed the app but I get the same error.

I found the answer and I'm fine now.

I had to enable the Atom Publishing Protocol in Wordpress Settings.

I've downloaded the Android App to my HTC Evo 3d but I'm not able to log in and use the app. I think it's not finding my URL to the Wordpress site that I'm currently hosting with godady.com.

Question: what is my url (blog url), if I have Wordpress installed on root directory?

You can try disabling your plugins to see if any of them are interfering. Regarding the images not showing up, are you adding them from images on the SD card? I know the app doesn't handle images from Picasa very well at the moment.

just tried that it says "XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only" ? No idea what that means?

Looks like HTML is being returned where your blog should be returning an XML-RPC response. I would open up a browser when on 3G and visit yourblog.com/xmlrpc.php to see what it shows there.

I'm at a loss here and I dont know what the problem is. The app worked fine last time I used it on my old phone, however recently I changed to a HTC One X, also changed network providers and updated Wordpress. I can set up the app and post etc fine as long as I am on WiFi, as soon as I change to 3g nothing works (see image on linked tweet) and I get error messages. Any clue on what it could be?

The latest Kindle Fire update has unfortunately broken the ability to pick an image from the Gallery from any Android app, including WordPress. Amazon says they are working on a fix for this. In the meantime, there's a workaround to add images to a new post by sharing them to the app from the gallery:

Open the gallery app and select the images you want to add to a post.
Tap the 'Share' button, and then tap on WordPress
The images will be added to the post and you can go from there!

So far the android app has not been very helpful for me. I am having a few problems (some have been mentioned on here some not) and it makes it very difficult to do anything.

First of all I can't see all my pages so I can only work with 3 out of 6 or 7 pages. not sure how to make the others show up.

Secondly when I try to insert a picture into a page (not a post) it tells me that the image could not be uploaded from the gallery (the gallery on the tablet) In the past I have had it tell me that it worked but it seemed to use a local path for the file not a path on the server so I don't think it really uploaded it. and of course it didn't show up.

When I start at my tablet's image gallery and use the share wordpress share button it opens a new post but the picture is not included. (will it ever be possible to choose a different page to have images go to when you use the share button in this way? I would like to be able to "share" them to a gallery page).
I am using a Transformer Prime with ICS.

Hi,

i got the message "HTTP Status code: 403 was returned. Forbidden" on the android app, the version of the app is the newest of the app store and my wordpress version is 3.1 (can't upgrade because of hosting php & mysql versions)

When i call the url directly on pc and android i can login and connect, only the app wont work.

when i call http://www.bj83.de/xmlrpc.php?rsd it seems to work, i entered as adress in the app:

- http://www.bj83.de
- http://www.bj83.de
- http://bj83.de/xmlrpc.php
- bj83.de/xmlrpc.php
all does not work, i tried renaming and using the plugin allready but still cant access it. (put back the original file now)

.htaccess and such things wont work on my hosting. (not allowed)

Have anyone an hint for me how to fix this?

i created a new thread because i tried all the suggestions in the other threads about this, but nothing works..

Are you using any plugins on the specific site you are trying got connect to? Some plugins inject invalid XML into the API which causes problems.

When i try to add my wp site to the LATEST BETA app (released today, Apr 19), i get the following:

org.xmlpull.v1.XmlPullParserException: expected: START_TAG {null}methodResponse(position:START_TAG <html>@2:7 in java.io.InputStreamReader

I have several subsites on that domain which all work flawlessly.

Any ideas?

When I try to add an account (I have two blogs) it tells me my password is invalid.
When I'm on the desktop site, there's just a drop down to toggle between the two, so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong on the app. It doesn't give me an option to toggle and it won't let me "add" the other blog.
