Like the title says, when inserting a link in a post, can you please add a checkbox that can be checked to automatically add target="_blank"when inserting the link. It'd be so much easier than manually typing it out for every link.

I think most Wordpress users do not want users to leave their site when opening a link and always want the link to open in a new tab/window.

If I remember correctly, the Wordpress for iOS app already has this feature.

Not sure if it's the most efficient way, but feeding the modified description back into the matcher on the replace seems to fix it locally for me. eg:

We believe that communications is something that everyone should have access to without feeling
like you have another car payment each month. We also know that you have many choices when selecting a telephone service provider. It is for these very reasons that we offer low-cost services that include all the calling features that you expect to have along with personal service and a network that you can count on.

If you need a cellular phone, home phone, single line business phone or even a solution for your entire office, VoX has a product that will save you money.

Enjoy free unlimited calling & instant messaging to other VoX Mobile customers.

Now, you can also download the app and receive a Free 60 minutes of calling to non-VoX customers.

Most people will think twice before spending too much for a gallon on milk or a bottle of water but they usually don't think that they could be spending too much money on phone service for their home or office and they're most likley spending too much for a cellular phone.

So you're ready to start saving money on your home phone service by switching to VoIP, but you've heard of some bad experiences that others have had with Vonage and now you're just not sure if digital phone service is right for you. The last thing you want is to have your home phone service switched only to find that you now have to spend more money to get back to your current provide.

Save your minutes and get the most out of your Android phone or tablet using true VoIP and VoX Mobile, our native Android application.

If you already own a Nokia N900 with a data plan on another carrier you can still use VoX's mobile voice application and save.

Also, enjoy unlimited VoIP calling to 60 countries for $29.95 a month. There are several other plans to choose from

Hi guys,

This question is originally posted in the "Troubleshooting" forum, but it is actually not a trouble, but a simple question. So I post it again here, hope it is fine :P

So this question is for the developers of WordPress Android.

It is a simple question about the "uuid" used in the uploadStats() method in "wpAndroid.java".
By reading the code for the Android version of WordPress, I noticed that in the Android version, this "uuid" is just a unique ID that randomly generated and stored as the first record in WordPress’s own SQLite database on the Android device.
However, in the code of the iPhone version of WordPress, the uuid used in the same method is actually the device's uuid.

So my question is, when writing the code for WordPress Android, why the "uuid" does not use the device uuid? (I mean it can just be easily obtained by calling TelephonyManager.getDeviceId(), right?)

Is this because calling TelephonyManager.getDeviceId() will trigger the "android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE" permission checking?
I mean, is it because WordPress for Android is actually trying to avoid such additional permission request when writing the code? Is it the reason why it is using a random-generated uuid instead of the real device id (such as on iPhone's version of WordPress)?

Appreciate if the original developer of that wpAndroid class could answer my question or just confirm my guessing :)

Regards,
- Jin

While sprucing up this version to prepare 2.0.4, please fix a new issue found in this version only:
If a draft has a future date it is listed as "Scheduled" on the list of posts. This is confusing because I often start drafts that I future-date because I know they'll go live much later. At this point I can't tell the difference between a Draft and a Published item. They all say "Scheduled."

My blog is not hosted at WordPress so I used the HTML editor in the old version. That version was fine -- after a brief period when it too mutilated HTML & then the user (me) had the option of choosing the HTML editor.

Examples in the 2.0.1 version:
1. I edited text that was in italics. When I saved the blog, the app italicized my entire blog. Aaaarrg!
2. When creating links in the PC-based editor I always checkmark "Open link in a new window" Even if I don't edit the links in WP for Android, when I save the blog it removes all the target="_blank" code.

Please offer an HTML editor ... or please fix this.

Well, I answered my own question. 8^D it does indeed work with the Android app. I did another quick photo type post and it showed up in my social streams shortly afterward. I think the problem I was having was that I recently swapped over to the "timeline" format for my homepage and it didn't show up there, but my wife pointed out the post in her news feed. I checked over on Twitter and I saw the link there as well.

It makes sense that things should function like so, I'm guessing the trigger to publicize a post sits on the servers themselves, and not with the application, so once you get publicize up and functional, you can post from anywhere to your blog and it will get out to your streams.

Motorola Defy, Android 2.1 update 1

1. I have a low resolution setting on my camera (1.2 mp) to prevent upload problems. When I hit the "Quick photo" button, this setting is ignored and the camera opens with its max setting (5 mp). Not good.

2. So now I start from my camera, take a photo and hit "share" , select Wordpress and write a post-title and then tap the photo for settings. There is a thumbnail size slider that works not very good. It is hard to selct i.e. 150 px. I would prefer tapping in a number and have the APP remember that number, which it does not now for me.
But, still great work!!

I was told I could ask this question here instead of the general support forums...

I recently upgraded to the Android 2.0 app and LOVE it! Well done!

I used the app to do a "quick photo" type post to my blog, where I had the publicize features recently enabled and verified. However, the blog entry I added was not shared to Facebook/Twitter.

I went in a little while later through the web site (on my computer) and added another post, and the publicize feature worked just fine.

Does anybody know if the publicize feature will work through the Android app? If not, that would be a great feature to add.
